Frequently Asked Questions

What does it cost? [ Back to Top ]

The price for sending or distributing a press release of 500 words or less is just US$399. You receive national distribution to more than 7,000 sources, as well as distribution to two target or industry lists. Also, your complete release is posted to PR Newswire and sent to their appropriate trades. This includes distribution to more than 4,000 websites, online services, and public databases. After distribution, you will receive a WireWatch report showing your press release on at least half a dozen news sites, including Yahoo! and News Alert. [ Click to view news outlets ]

No hidden charges: The only additional charges we assess is if your release is more than 500 words or if you choose more than two target/industry categories. Additional words are available in blocks of 100 words which cost an additional $100 each block. Additional target or trade categories are just $100 each.

We also offer press release writing services at a cost US$299. Combine the press release writing and distribution to save $99 (just US$599).

How do I know my press release went out? [ Back to Top ]

We tell you. Understandably, that isn't enough -- so we tell you but we also include a WireWatch report showing your press release posted on Yahoo!, News Alert, and at least four additional websites/news sites. We hear from many people who used company xyz for distributing their press release and they don't know if there press release was really sent out. We share your concerns and stand behind our WireWatch report as instant gratification that your press release was distributed.

When is the press release distributed? [ Back to Top ]

Your can schedule press release distribution for next day (which, by default, is sent before 9am EST the following business day) or you can select another future date.

How do you send the press releases? [ Back to Top ]

We send press releases as text within the body of emails sent to subscribing journalists. The press releases are also distributed electronically as text when posted on the wire through our partner PR Newswire. Our emails are sent from us so subscribing journalists will recognize that this is material they subscribed to. Our journalists are not from a media database but actual live people who can unsubscribe or modify their subscription at any time. Because many news outlets don't accept attachments due to virus and bandwidth concerns, we sent as text only. You can place links or urls to your images or logos within the body of a press release. Example: (logo: http://www.companyname.com/logo.jpg) We are unable to distribute html code or stylized text. The subject line of press release emails will include your press release headline or a shortened version of the headline.

Why should I choose you? [ Back to Top ]

Integrity and honesty. We provide affordable press release services of a caliber usually only offered by pr firms charging anywhere from three to five times what we charge.

We charge no membership fees and no hidden charges. Our goal is to provide affordable, yet comprehensive, press release writing and distribution services. We provide proof of distribution by providing you with a WireWatch report for you to see your complete press release posted on major websites and news sources like Yahoo!, News Alert, CBS MarketWatch, Dallas News, Lycos, MiamiToday, and Silicon Valley Business Ink to name just a few. Every Press-Releases.com customer receives a complimentary WireWatch report.

Subscribing journalists means that only those interested in receiving press releases will do so. Our journalists subscribe by name avoiding allegations of spam and avoiding the problem associated with worthless media directories filled with newsroom@news-source.com which is unlikely to reach an actual person.

Can your reach this news outlet? [ Back to Top ]

A list of news outlets we reach is available online:

http://www.Press-Releases.com/distribution-sources.html

Because we can only send to journalists and news outlets that have agreed to receive our press releases, we cannot send to a particular source not listed in our directory. Feel free to make recommendations as we are continually adding new sources and attempting to reach journalists to subscribe to our service.

What results can I expect? [ Back to Top ]

We've distributed press releases that have transformed businesses and have resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars (even millions of dollars in one case) in sales as a result. However, these results are abnormal. These clients did so well because of newsworthiness (which was high) and timing (which is another word for luck; a journalist needed a story when that release hit their desktop). Many successful clients get picked up in a couple of newspapers and a couple of trade publications. Other successful clients consist of those who get picked up once in a while as their industry is crowded and competition is high: perhaps one newspaper or industry trade publication for every press release or every other press relase they distribute. Wow, that's really low. Well, I've heard from many clients who have paid $12,000 to $30,000 to a pr firm with no coverge at all. None. It is hard to get coverage. If you can afford it, a good pr firm can help you get coverage but most don't guarantee coverage. Many of our clients can't afford a pr firm. Many of our clients aren't very newsworthy (which doesn't mean they shouldn't send a press release but perhaps they should consider having us help to craft a press release or a series of press releases with different news pitches). We want you to have reasonable expectations but we do want you to succeed. One shared characteristic of successful clients: they keep trying. While their first press release might result in little to no coverage, they keep trying -- reworking their press release by trying a different angle and approach.

Useful information on writing a press release can be found on our website, as well as tips on submitting a press release whether you use our service or decide to distribute the press release yourself.

Do you have references or client testimonials? [ Back to Top ]
